We present this spectacular farmhouse dating from 1587 and restored in 1861. Can Bellsolà is a farmhouse in the municipality of Cardedeu (Vallès Oriental) protected as a cultural asset of local interest. Description A farmhouse of considerable size with an enclosed neighbourhood. The building consists of a central part with a four-slope roof with the ridge parallel to the façade and two additional parts on each side, formed by three arches and a tower. It has a semicircular voussoir doorway with fan-shaped voussoirs and four balconies on the first floor with flat lintels. The building as a whole is very symmetrical. In the central part, the openings, except for the central door, have flat lintels, while on the sides the openings form arches. Between two balconies, on the first floor, there is a large coat of arms with two rampant wild beasts and the date 1587. On the lower part of the coat of arms is the date of the restoration of the house: 1861. It faces south. Inside, in the room on the main floor, there are magnificent coffered ceilings. History This house and the Fleca Vella, dated 1550, are the oldest buildings in Cardedeu that bear inscriptions. The 1777 map shows the Can Bellsolà farmhouse, which appears with the same structure it still has today. In front of the house, in carrerita de Vilamajor, there is also a cross, now disappeared, called “Sto. Christo del Bellsolà”. It is a stately house, both for its size and for the refinement in the artistic typology of the farmhouse.
